In spite of their large size, our expert personnel and equipment completed these woodscrews with an uncompromising level of accuracy, attaining tightest tolerances of ±0.005".Our client was very pleased with the results of this project. From prototyping to full production, we were able to complete and deliver these full body woodscrews with a turnaround time of just four weeks. These products were of the highest quality, fully meeting all the requirements of ANSI B18.6.1. We maintain a team of expert engineers to tackle the most complex More... fastener design challenges.Our engineering capabilities were well exemplified in the project illustrated below. One of our industrial clients was having a problem with their U bolts. We have a long history with this customer and are considered one of their best suppliers, which is why they enlisted us for help. These parts were experiencing a high level of rust and accelerated corrosion in the field. After a consultation, we discovered that their uncoated U bolts were experiencing metal-on-metal contact with the pipes they were fastening. This was causing an accelerated rate of corrosion for all the involved parts. We were able to solve this problem with our custom-designed, rubber sleeved U bolts.We offer custom designed U bolts coated with rubber and polyurethane. This coating creates a seamless, vulcanized material that can be applied to any kind of U bolt. It not only helps eliminate corrosion problems for a broad array of applications, but also offers excellent shock and vibration absorption. We provided full design and manufacturing of these parts. Because of the level of strength needed, we used 1022 steel for the main part of the U bolt. Once formed it was then finished with RoHS compliant zinc, after which the rubber sleeve was applied. Tightest tolerances were held to ±0.005".Our customer was well pleased with our results; the rubber sleeved U bolts solved their corrosion problems. We were able to complete this entire project, from design through delivery, in a turnaround time of just four weeks. We now produce 17,000 of these products for our customer annually. This single chamfer flat washer is heavily used with automotive applications. To custom fabricate this washer; we employed our full range of advanced machinery. This included our automatic screw machine, modern CNC and EDM machines, and in-house tool room. We proceeded according to a customer-supplied print, and began fabrication using SAE 41410 cold-finished round steel.Our facility is known for our precision work, and we were able to manufacture this washer to tightest tolerances of ± 0.010". After fabrication was complete, we finished this washer with Brinell Hardness 255-321, Rockwell 25, and 34 Plain Finish. This automotive washer needed to meet stringent industry standards and government safety codes. Our team of experts ensured that all relevant standards were met, including ANSI spec B18.6.1.We were able to complete this washer fabrication job fully within a four week turnaround time. Our client, who has turned to us many times for their fastener supply requirements, was impressed with our results. We have a wide breadth of expertise to cover areas as diverse as machined products, nylon insert locknuts, and cold head fasteners, among others.Our design engineers were recently able to help solve a problem with the design of a riveting hinged bracket. A customer in the outdoor building industry had submitted a bracket design that would not work in the capacities they required. We devoted months of onsite engineering to perfecting the design, and finally were able to achieve a version of this bracket that functioned best for both the installers and the application.We created a prototype from 304 stainless steel; it was constructed with a thickness of 0.104" and was finished with white powder coating. Our machining processes are extremely accurate; our finished product maintaining tightest tolerances of ± 0.010".Our client was very pleased with our work. After the design problem had been solved, this project was completed with a turnaround time of four weeks. The modified design we helped establish was extremely successful, and these brackets are now distributed nationwide. Each bracket is fully constructed, riveted, powder coated, and bagged in hardware kits at our facility. These include parts with specialized designs, including the all-purpose hook illustrated in the project you see here.Our customer needed a screw eye stainless steel hook in an unconventionally large size. The hook also needed to have an extra high level of brightness. Our team of experts fully engineered and designed this product according to our customer's exact specifications. The hook was fabricated from stainless steel using wire forming. The dimensional requirements are what made this project especially challenging. The hook needed to be manufactured with a 4-7/8" screw eye and 3/8-9 thread. We completed fabrication in a timely and accurate manner, forming the hook to tolerances of ± 0.005". In order to achieve the brightness required by the customer, we applied a walnut brightening operation.At Associated Fastening Products, we take quality very seriously. After manufacturing was complete, we ensured that the steel hook meet all customer specifications. It also needed to meet the standards of ANSI spec B18.6.1. We finished all aspects of this operation, from design to full production and delivery, within a timeframe of just four weeks. The all-purpose hook met all the necessary standards, and our customer was very pleased with the product. Our standard and custom designed fasteners have included screw machine parts, cold headed fasteners, nylon insert locknuts, and a whole host of screws, drill bits, and More... fittings. While many projects dictate large production runs of a single type of parts, some require fasteners of all different kinds. This is what occurs when we fabricate hardware kits.We were contacted by a customer in the agriculture industry to manufacture, assemble, and bag hardware kits with custom designed fastening products. The contents of the hardware kits included wire formed parts, cable ties, standard fasteners, and screw machined items. The components were manufactured using a wide range of processes, including wire forming and custom machining. All custom manufactured parts were composed of high-quality grade 5 steel and were constructed to tightest tolerances of ± 0.010. After construction, each steel part was custom finished with a heat stamped kit number, barcode, revision level, and date.The kits were then assembled and inserted into a 4 mil 6 x 8 polybag using our Autobag AB-180 bagging machine. We accomplished this building and bagging project with an excellent turnaround time; all aspects of production, from design to manufacture and bagging, were completed within four weeks. Our customer was pleased with our work on this project, and entrusted us to manufacture 133,750 of these hardware kits per year.This hardware project perfectly exemplified our capabilities of performing precision, one-stop manufacturing projects at a very high volume. Washers are available in a range of material options, including ferrous, non-ferrous, high temperature alloys, aluminum, brass, beryllium copper, titanium, and grades # 5 and 8, along with non-metallic materials including fiberglass, PTFE, PVC, mica, PEEK, rubber, and vinyl among many others.
