SpeedMask® peelable masks are solvent-free, 100% solids resins designed for the masking of printed circuit board components prior to conformal coating application or wave solder and reflow processes. They cure in seconds "on-demand" when exposed to UV/Visible light. More... The fast cure allows boards to be immediately processed without the need for racking or waiting. The masks have low odor and require no special venting. The cured materials also leave no silicone, ionic contamination, or corrosive residues.Dymax® electronic masks can be used to protect many different PCB substrates including FR-4, ceramic, gold fingers or frames, connectors - surface mounted and raised as well as the many materials used in the manufacture of electronic components. Dymax 9803 low-shrinkage cationic epoxy is specifically designed for the alignment of camera modules, optical components, LiDAR (light detection and ranging), and other ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) assemblies used in automotive applications. The product cures very fast primarily with LED or broad-spectrum light or UV light only. 9803 also features a low-temperature (80-85°C) heat-cure for shadow areas or where heat-only cure is preferred.
As the aerospace industry evolves, design requirements push the limits for avionic systems controlling and supporting satellites and spacecraft. Systems must be engineered using materials that can withstand extreme environments. One-part, solvent- and halogen-free, RoHS/REACH-compliant adhesives and coatings meet these rigorous demands. Products with NASA ASTM E595 Low Outgassing and UL94-V0 flammability specifications, as well as light/moisture cure materials, are available.
Dual-cure 9771 is a light + moisture cure conformal coating developed to meet the stringent requirements of the aerospace and defense market. This 100% solids coating contains no solvents and is ideal for protecting PCBs in missiles, satellites, and other space devices where exposure to extreme conditions are an obstacle. This coating is unique, as it is the only conformal coating on the market that meets NASA Low Outgassing ASTM E595 and Mil-Std. 883 Method 5011 specifications.
MD® 1040-M adhesive is formulated to bond, pot, or encapsulate medical devices that require repeated sterilization. Designed to be autoclave resistant for more than 100 cycles, 1040-M is ideal for surgical tools and devices that are sterilized using autoclave or STERRAD plasma sterilization. This material also offers extremely low water absorption (0.5%), and bonds to various substrates including stainless steel, aluminum, glass, PP/PE, and PCB.
Dymax 1000-series adhesives are solvent-free and cure within seconds upon exposure to UV and visible light, permitting bonding of UV-inhibited and tinted plastics. These medical-grade adhesives are ISO 10993 approved and ideal for bonding a variety of substrates found in medical reservoirs and housings, respiratory devices, needles and syringes, transducers, tube sets and fitting, wearable devices, and other medical disposables.
SpeedMask temporary protective coatings can seal and protect machined, ground, or polished surfaces during tumbling, peening, abrading, plating, and plasma-spray coatings, as well as cleaning. They are solvent-free and can be dispensed and cured with light in just seconds. Available in burn-off and peelable grades, orthopedic maskants are easily removed and leave surfaces residue free.
Adhesive staking is a process commonly used to connect electronic components to printed circuit boards. This process provides extra protection and mechanical support to PCB components that may be damaged due to vibration, shock, or other handling. Dymax offers a variety of light-curable adhesives formulated for electronics staking applications, which cure "on-demand" in just seconds with UV/visible light. Once cured, the PCB's are immediately ready for the next assembly step.
Radiometers are crucial quality-assurance tools for anyone using light-curing equipment. They allow users to monitor UV intensity or dose in order to maintain an accurate curing process. For this reason, it is important to ensure radiometers are always operating at peak performance. Users should have their radiometers recalibrated every 6-12 months. The Dymax equipment services group can provide quick radiometer recalibration, with typical turn-around times of less than one week.
Dymax 9483 dual-cure, light- and moisture-curable conformal coating provides superior protection of rigid and flexible printed circuit boards, sensors, control modules, and miscellaneous components found in automotive, appliance, consumer electronics, and aerospace and defense applications. When tested, 9483 displayed excellent performance in a variety of tests including thermal cycling, heat/humidity, salt spray, and chemical corrosion testing.
A medical manufacturer was forced to shut down their production line after they began having issues with field failures. Hoping to figure out what was causing the bond failure, they sent the faulty parts to Dymax for inspection. With just the use of a black light, the Application Engineering team was able to quickly figure out what the problem was and get the company's production line back up and running.
Get high-intensity LED light curing in a compact size! The BlueWave® AX-550 2.0 flood-curing system combines an emitter, controller, and power supply into one compact unit, eliminating the bulk and cost of connection cables and other miscellaneous parts. Quiet and efficient, it is available with a 365, 385, or 405 nm emitter that provides a sizable 5" x 5" curing area. This curing lamp can also be easily incorporated into automated assembly lines.
Solvent-free, 100% solids SpeedMask temporary protective coatings offer easy, instant application onto components and help to reduce edge lift and leakage. They provide reliable coverage and conform to complex contours on hard-to-mask parts. The ability to apply the masks in one layer eliminates wasted time waiting for multiple layers to dry. On-demand cure in less than a minute means parts can be processed immediately, and the masks remove cleanly, leaving no residue behind.
